Ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτυχία την Κυριακή 18 Σεπτεμβρίου ο τέταρτος γύρος του Παγκυπρίου Πρωταθλήματος ταχύτητας by NAGA PAY. Ο αγώνας που διεξήχθη στην περιοχή κάμπος με το μήκος της διαδρομής να είναι τρία χιλιόμετρα, διοργάνωσε το Σωματείο Αγωνιστικού Αυτοκινήτου Αμμοχώστου και τελούσε υπό την αιγίδα της Κυπριακής Ομοσπονδίας Αυτοκινήτου.
Ο Γιάννος Ιωαννίδης με το Psaltis Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII κατάφερε να επικρατήσει σε δεύτερο σερί αγώνα αλλά και να πάρει την τρίτη συνεχόμενη του νίκη στον κάμπο Παραλιμνίου. ‘Έκανε ένα αλάνθαστο αγώνα καταφέρνοντας να γράψει τον ταχύτερο χρόνο ανάμεσα στους 22 οδηγούς που έλαβαν μέρος και να περάσει δεύτερος στο βαθμολογικό πίνακα.
Ο Γιώργος Πολυκάρπου με Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 3 ήταν ο οδηγός που τερμάτισε στη δεύτερη θέση παρόλο που αντιμετώπισε πρόβλημα με το κιβώτιο ταχυτήτων στο δοκιμαστικό του πέρασμα,. Έγραψε χρόνο 0:02:15.06 και με αυτό το αποτέλεσμα διατηρήθηκε στην πρώτη θέση της βαθμολογία με 103 βαθμούς. Τρίτος έμεινε ο Ηλίας Πιερή με το ΕΝΕΟS Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI, με καλύτερο χρόνο το 0:02:16.38, αφού στην πρώτη αντιμετώπισε μηχανικό πρόβλημα το οποίο κατάφερε να επιδιορθώσει.
Στην τέταρτη θέση και πρώτος στην κατηγορία RCS2 τερμάτισε ο Ευαγόρας Κούλουρος με Mitsubishi Lancer EVO III ο όποιος όμως είδε τις ελπίδες του για τίτλο να μειώνονται..
Στην 5η θέση γενικής και πρώτος στην κατηγορία RC2 τερμάτισε Λάμπρος Ιωανίδης με το Psaltis Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, ο οποίος κέρδισε παράλληλα και την κατηγορία RC2.. Στην 6η θέση γενικής και δεύτερος στην κατηγορία RCS2 ο Μάριος Παύλου με Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7.
Σταθερός για ακόμα ένα αγώνα ήταν ο Σταύρος Αντωνίου με το Psaltis / ENEOS Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IV που ολοκλήρωσε στην έβδομη θέση και δεύτερος στην κατηγορία RC2. Όγδοος γενικής και τρίτος στην κατηγορία RC2 πλασαρίστηκε ο πάντα εντυπωσιακός Κυριάκος Ιωαννίδης Psaltis Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IV. Την δεκάδα συμπλήρωσε ο Παναγιώτης Ξενοφώντος με Honda Civic ο οποίος κέρδισε και την δικίνητη κατηγορία. Ο Μιχάλης Διομήδους με Honda Civic επικράτησε στην κατηγορία RC4. Στην κατηγορία RCS1 ο Μιχάλης Σοφοκλέους με το Psaltis VW GOLF GTI κέρδισε και σε αυτό τον αγώνα και ανέβηκε πρώτος και ισόβαθμος με 108 βαθμούς στην βαθμολογία με τον Δημήτρη Παρέλη που έμεινε δεύτερος στον αγώνα, ενώ τρίτος με Seat Ibiza τερμάτισε ο Σωκράτης Παπαναστασίου. Στις υπόλοιπες κατηγορίες, ο Κλεάνθης Έλληνας με Ford Fiesta DYTCO επικράτησε στην κατηγορία RCL1 ο Ρίκκος Παναγιώτου με Suzuki Vitara κέρδισε την κατηγορία RCT1 και ο Δημήτρης Παρελλης με το SWAG OPEL CORSA κέρδισε την κατηγορία RCS 3 .
Ο επόμενος αγώνας για το Παγκύπριο πρωτάθλημα ταχύτητας θα διεξαχθεί την 5η Νοεμβρίου, θα έχει συντελεστή 1,25.
Χορηγός του αγώνα είναι η εταιρία Ψάλτης Ανταλλακτικά και τα λιπαντικά ENEOS.
Εκτός του Ευρωπαϊκού πρωταθλήματος θα είναι φέτος το Ράλι Κύπρος!
Με επίσημη ανακοίνωση του το ERC αντικατέστησε το Cyprus Rally 2020 με το Spa Rally. Δυστυχώς ο αγώνας θα προσμετρά μόνο για το πρωτάθλημα Μέσης Ανατολής και το τοπικό πρωτάθλημα.
Φυσικά είναι προγραμματισμένο να επιστρέψει κανονικά για το 2021. Ευχόμαστε χωρίς αλλαγές!
Επόμενος αγώνας στο φετινό ημερολόγιο του ERC θα είναι το Rally Fafe Montelongo από τις 2-4 Οκτωβρίου, ακολουθούμενο από το Rally Hungary από τις 6-8 Νοεμβρίου και το Rally Islas Canarias (26-28 Νοεμβρίου). Το Spa Rally θα κλείσει τη φετινή σεζόν και θα διεξαχθεί από τις 12-13 Δεκεμβρίου.
The 2020 FIA European Rally Championship is set to be decided on the Spa Rally in Belgium after the event was added to the ERC calendar as the sixth and final round of the current season.
Scheduled to take place from December 12-13, the Spa Rally features stages in and around the famous Belgian Grand Prix venue and will provide an exciting challenge for some of Europe’s top driving talent.
Based in the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps paddock, the event follows Rally Islas Canarias (November 26-28) on the list of 2020 ERC events and marks the championship’s return to Belgium for the first time since 2016.
Jean-Baptiste Ley, the ERC Co-ordinator for promoter Eurosport Events, said: “We have followed the Spa Rally closely for a while now and have always been impressed by the forward-thinking approach, attention to detail and strong organisation and promotion from Christian Jupsin and his team at DG Sport.
“Having discussed the possibility of the Spa Rally joining the ERC previously, it’s very satisfying that those conversations have resulted in the event joining the FIA European Rally Championship calendar for the first time for what promises to be a spectacular finale to the current season.”
Run over a distance of 205.52 kilometres on predominantly sealed-surface stages, the Spa Rally will include the WRX track – used for the Spa World RX of Benelux event in November – on the action-packed itinerary. The mixed-surface course will be combined with internal rounds within the venue to form an epic night stage on December 12. Additional stages take place in the Francorchamps countryside on fast and technical roads with the wintry weather set to be a major factor in the battle for victory.
Christian Jupsin, the Spa Rally promoter, said: “This is a project that we had already discussed in the past. It was not possible then, but the postponement of this year’s Spa Rally from March to December due to COVID-19 restrictions gave us the opportunity to re-enter discussions with Eurosport Events regarding the hosting of an ERC round. I am very happy an agreement has been concluded and it is a great satisfaction and a great recognition for DG Sport and its staff are now also able to organise the final round of the 2020 FIA ERC.
“In collaboration with the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the City of Spa and the municipalities that host the special stages, I can guarantee you that we will put the small dishes in the big ones so that the Spa Rally 2020 is a great rally celebration that will be remembered.”
The Spa Rally replaces the Cyprus Rally on the ERC schedule after it was agreed the Nicosia-based event, a long-term and popular fixture on the European Rally Championship calendar, will count for FIA Middle East and national championship points only in 2020. Eurosport Events and the Cyprus Automobile Association are already discussing the events return to the ERC roster for 2021.
Next up on the ERC schedule is Rally Fafe Montelongo from October 2-4 followed by Rally Hungary from November 6-8 and Rally Islas Canarias (November 26-28).
